The Cuban Ambassador to Spain, Gustavo Machín Gómez, representing the Center for the Promotion of Foreign Trade and Investment, PROCUBA, and the CEO of Extenda-Empresa Pública Andalucía de Promoción Exterior, S.A., Carlos Arturo Bernal Bergua, signed a Memorandum of Understanding, as a continuation of the interest of both entities to continue strengthening economic and commercial ties between Andalusia and Cuba.

The main objective of the Agreement signed is to promote commercial exchange between both countries, in order to expedite access to their markets for goods and services, as well as the study of strategic alliances and the development of investments, in accordance with the regulations established by both countries.

Following the signing, a “Day of Business Opportunities in Cuba” was held, during which the Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Cuban Embassy in Spain, Janet Fernández Padilla, presented to the attendees an update on the policies for foreign investment in our country, including the business opportunities of the 2020-2021 project portfolio, and the strategic importance of the Mariel Special Development Zone for the development of foreign investments. He also presented an update on Cuba’s exportable supply of goods and services and on the creation of the Single Windows for Foreign Investment and Foreign Trade.
